SPRING IS THE SEASON TO RESET

Why now is the ideal time to restore, treat and prepare your skin for summer

As winter begins to ease, it’s time to give your skin a little more attention.

The colder months can leave skin feeling drier, more sensitive and less resilient. Cooler air, indoor heating and changes in our daily routines can gradually impact the skin barrier, while the effects of summer exposure can become more visible as we move through the year.

Spring is a natural time to reset, restore and look ahead.

With longer days ahead and summer on the horizon, September is an ideal time to focus on skin health, address areas of concern and, for those considering energy-based treatments, begin a considered treatment plan.

Treatments such as IPL, laser and resurfacing work by stimulating a controlled response within the skin. Because skin can be more sensitive to UV exposure while it is healing, beginning a treatment plan in spring allows time for the skin to recover and settle before summer arrives.

This spring, take the time to care for your skin now, so it can feel its healthiest come summer.

THE CLINICIANS EDIT

Their spring treatment picks, and the thinking behind them

At Hale Aesthetics, our team brings together dermal clinicians, cosmetic nurses, skin therapists and a doctor, each with their own area of expertise. We asked them what they’re recommending most this spring, from addressing uneven tone and hydration to supporting skin quality and luminosity.

Kristy
Lead Dermal Clinician

Her pick: Lumecca IPL
“Early spring is a great time to address any leftover uneven tone, texture, pigment or vascularity from the warmer months. I love pairing Lumecca with an enzyme treatment to freshen and brighten the skin as we head towards party season. With a short treatment time and minimal downtime, it’s a great option to start early and have your skin looking and feeling its best throughout summer.”

At home
Daily SPF is essential when treating pigmentation and throughout the warmer months. A consistent SPF routine helps protect the skin and support your treatment plan.

Brooke
Dermal Clinician

Her pick: Radiant Rejuvenation
“Our signature Radiant Rejuvenation package is my spring go-to. It’s all about bringing back that fresh, vibrant glow and restoring the hydration our skin can lose over winter. I love it as a way to reset the skin and head into summer feeling confident, healthy and radiant.”

At home
Hydration and nourishment are key after winter. RATIONALE #1 The Mask helps replenish and support the skin, making it a beautiful addition to your weekly routine.

ULIANA
Cosmetic Nurse

Her pick: Advanced Rejuvenation
“Rejuran is one of my favourite treatments for spring. After winter, the skin can benefit from a deeper boost of hydration, luminosity and overall skin quality. It’s about supporting the skin from within and creating that fresh, healthy spring glow.”

At home
A consistent skincare routine is key to supporting your skin between treatments. Focus on hydration, barrier support and daily SPF as we transition into the warmer months.

ALANA
Cosmetic Nurse

Her pick: Skin Needling with Topical Skinboosters
“I love skin needling with topical skinboosters as a way to support collagen production and improve overall skin quality. We space the treatments four weeks apart, allowing the skin time to respond between each session. It can be a great alternative for someone looking for a more gradual approach to skin rejuvenation, without the downtime associated with more intensive laser treatments. Spring is also a great time to start, giving the skin time to build and respond as we move towards summer.”

At home
Supporting collagen production from within can complement your treatment plan. IMBIBE Miracle Collagen is designed to support fibroblast activity and collagen production, helping to support your skin from the inside out.

DON’T STOP AT THE JAWLINE

Why your neck, décolletage and hands deserve the same considered approach as your face

The neck, décolletage and hands are often some of the most overlooked areas when it comes to skin health. The skin in these areas can be thinner and more delicate, while being exposed to the same environmental factors, particularly UV exposure, that we think about when caring for our face.

Over time, this can contribute to changes in pigmentation, texture, hydration and firmness. And while we’re often diligent with our facial skincare and treatments, these areas can easily be left behind.

The good news is that they don’t need an entirely separate approach. Extending your existing skin health routine and treatment plan beyond the face can be a simple way to give these areas the attention they deserve.

If you’re treating pigmentation on the face, consider the décolletage or hands too. If you’re focusing on texture or skin quality, the neck can be part of that conversation. Your skin doesn’t stop at the jawline, so your approach to skin health doesn’t have to either.

This spring at Hale

Book a Lumecca IPL, Aerolase Neo Elite, Alma Hybrid or Skin Needling treatment between 1 September and 30 November and we’ll treat a second area — neck, décolletage or hands — complimentary, in the same appointment.*

SKIN, HORMONES AND WHAT ACTUALLY CHANGES

New to Hale: Emepelle

Hormones play an important role in the health and resilience of our skin. Oestrogen supports collagen production, hydration, skin thickness and barrier function, so as levels naturally change through perimenopause and menopause, it’s common to notice changes in the way your skin looks and feels.

You may find your skin feels drier, more sensitive or less resilient than it once did, even when your skincare routine hasn’t changed. For some, these changes can happen gradually; for others, they can feel quite noticeable.

It’s not that your skincare routine has stopped working — your skin is simply changing, and your routine may need to evolve with it.

New to Hale Aesthetics, Emepelle has been specifically formulated for skin experiencing changes associated with declining oestrogen. Powered by MEP technology and formulated without hormones, it is designed to support the look and feel of skin during this stage of life and can be incorporated into your existing skincare routine.

If you’ve noticed your skin changing through perimenopause or menopause, Emepelle is worth exploring as part of a considered approach to your skin health.

The other half of the result

What happens in the weeks between appointments

A treatment is one part of your skin health journey. What you do at home in the weeks that follow can help support your skin, maintain its condition and get the most from your treatment plan.

It doesn’t necessarily mean adding more products. Often, it’s about creating a simple routine with a few well-chosen products, used consistently and in the right order.

Cleanse without stripping: A gentle cleanse helps remove the day without unnecessarily disrupting the skin barrier. #4 The Nourishing PreCleanse Balm and #4 The Nourishing Cleanser work together to thoroughly cleanse while supporting the skin’s natural barrier.

Protect, daily, all year: Daily SPF is one of the most important steps in any skin health routine, particularly when protecting against the effects of UV exposure. The RATIONALE Beautiful Skin Superfluids deliver SPF30 in six shades with a lightweight finish designed for everyday wear.

Support your skin overnight: Night-time is an important opportunity to nourish and support the skin. #6 The Rejuvenating Night Crème is formulated to complement the skin’s natural overnight renewal processes.

Support your skin from within: Skin health is influenced by more than what we put on our skin. Nutrition, hydration, sleep and overall wellbeing can all play a role in how our skin looks and feels. Imbibe’s Beauty Renewal and Kailo’s Feel Well, Look Well and Sleep Well are designed to complement a holistic approach to wellbeing and skin health.

Your clinician will help you build a routine that suits your skin, your treatment plan and your lifestyle. Everything is available in clinic or online.

Beyond the treatment room
